Anna Ferrer

Available for the 2027 festival and the 2027–2028 season:
– Album “AP” (La Castanya 2026)

Anna Ferrer (Menorca, 1993) sings, composes, and deconstructs songs from the past. She cultivates and draws inspiration from traditional folk music, which she demystifies to make it universal. Thus, her music draws inspiration from tradition while evolving into unique soundscapes infused with synthesizers.

Her first two solo albums, “Teluria” (2017) and “Krönia” (2019)—as well as her collaborations with artists such as Silvia Pérez Cruz, Marco Mezquida, Eliseo Parra, Clara Peya, and Clara Fiol—as well as her former role as a singer with OMAC and Coetus—have formed an exploratory journey aimed at liberating her singing: inseparable from a musical heritage she has cultivated since the age of three, she has reinvented the traditional forms of jotas, boleros, and romances, freeing them from the constraints of time.

This journey culminates in *Parenòstic* (La Castanya 2024), a hypnotic live show directed by Niño de Elche that has toured the United Kingdom, France, Portugal, Italy, Morocco, and Peru, with more than fifty concerts to its credit. As an album, it has won over both critics and audiences alike, thanks in large part to a glowing review published on the leading American music website Pitchfork.

Anna Ferrer’s current project is titled “PA” (La Castanya 2026), a performative concert born out of the need to ritualize the passing down of the family trade. After reflecting at length on this legacy, she decided not to carry on the family tradition of baking, but to do with music what her family did with bread. Anna Ferrer takes the stage accompanied by her father, two musicians, and a repertoire that blends oral tradition, popular imagination, research, and artistic experimentation. This project has been immortalized in the form of an album, her fourth record.
