Cru+es

Niño de Elche and Raül Refree, two cult artists, explore the dichotomies between life and death, pain and joy, noise and silence, in a new collaborative show that brings traditional Spanish music into the modern era.

After four years of live exploration of mystical ecstasy in a project titled Ecstasis—which conceived of music as a vehicle for supreme abstraction—Raül Refree and Niño de Elche delve deeper into another idea closely linked to the first, yet one that simultaneously implies its abandonment. The concept’s most human aspect—that of romantic and spiritual exaltation—leads them toward the liminal space between life and death, between pain and joy, between noise and silence. Paths that diverge and, of course, converge; stylistic lines that advance and intersect; a new world of possibilities that, on this occasion/celebration, embraces the observation and support of the creator Marta Pazos. Cru+es (not crosses or crusades); Raül Refree + Niño de Elche on the best path: the one yet to be opened.
